Food Provenance

We work closely with artisanal, bespoke suppliers who like us, are mostly family run businesses with a real passion for seasonal, sustainable and fully traceable great British produce.

Mark Leatham, one of our beef suppliers, has dedicated the last nine years to rearing the rare White Park Beef breed at Lyons Hill Farm near Dorchester. He is committed to increasing the numbers of this beautiful breed through selective breeding and developing a market for its excellent meat, with the aim of one day removing the breed from its current classification as a “Rare Breed”.

Our fish is sourced fresh from Brixham harbour. Josh Perkes is the fifth generation in his family to be involved within all aspects of the fishing industry. His love of fish started when at 4 years old he caught his first mackerel and has subsequently been working with fish ever since. With his customers in mind, Josh is on the market every morning picking out the freshest and highest quality fish and shellfish from the dayboats.

Charity

We are proud supporters of The Childhood Trust, London’s child poverty charity. The Childhood Trust works to stop poverty ruining the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young Londoners. Since 2013 they have helped over 65,000 children by funding grass roots projects that deliver practical, emotional and inspirational support to disadvantaged children living across London.

The Botanist’s partnership with The Childhood Trust will help to transform the lives of children who face challenges such as hunger, homelessness, stress and a lack of basic items such as beds, coats or toiletries. These are children who remain largely invisible in our communities. By partnering with The Childhood Trust we will be helping disadvantaged children to live happier and healthier lives with the best chance of achieving their potential.
